How can I make the movies I download from Ares go on DVDs?

I have downloaded some movies from Ares and they just don’t want to show up on the DVD player at home or on the DVD players in the car. What could be the problem or do I need to use a different kind of software to burn them?

  1. Anonymous Said,

What software are you using to burn? If you are just burning the files itself to DVD, that won’t work, a DVD consists of VOB, and IFO files in a folder labeled VIDEO_TS, you can do this in one of two ways

    1. Get a converter that converts your filetype to VOBs and IFOs (there will be 2 or more files, 1 or more of each file), make a folder and call it VIDEO_TS (it must be capitolized), and drag the VOB and IFO files to to the VIDEO_TS folder, take the VIDEO_TS file and burn it as you normally do

    2. Get a video DVD creating application, Nero and Easy DVD creator should include the software required, if you have Vista Ultimate, there is a DVD Video program preinstalled, import your video clips and choose a DVD menu design, then start burning the DVD, after the burning is done, it should play fine

Also check to see if your DVD players are compatible with DVD-Rs, they should be, but some early versions of DVD payers don’t read DVD-Rs, just try them and see if they play
